Privacy Policy — HappyPoints
HappyPoints collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your own iPhone.
What the app stores
Stored only on your own device:
- Your child's name, year of birth and optionally gender
- The avatar you choose, or a photo you add yourself
- The tasks, rewards and point values you set up
- The full history of points awarded and redeemed
- Your preferences: language, reminder time, savings bonus
None of this is transmitted. There is no server it could go to; the app works fully offline.
Photos
If you choose a photo as an avatar, the app uses Apple's own photo picker, which runs outside the app. The app receives only the single photo you point at and has no access to your photo library. The photo is downscaled and stored locally.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No push server is involved and nothing about your usage is shared.
Purchases
Purchases go entirely through Apple. The app only sees whether a valid subscription or one-time purchase is active. Your payment details, Apple ID and name never reach the app and are never stored by us. Apple's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
Backup
Data lives in the app's own container and is therefore included in your regular iCloud device backup, if you have that enabled. That backup is Apple's service, encrypted and tied to your Apple ID. We have no access to it.
What the app does not do
- No account, no sign-in, no email address
- No analytics, no third-party crash reporting
- No advertising and no tracking
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone
The app is therefore listed as Data Not Collected in App Store Connect.
Children
HappyPoints is meant for the parent. The child has no account, no password and no access of their own. The details you enter about your child — name, year of birth, photo — stay on your device and are never transmitted.
Deleting your data
Because everything is local, deleting the app deletes everything. Within the app you can delete an individual child along with their history. No copy remains anywhere else.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. Because the app transmits nothing and we store nothing, you exercise those rights directly in the app: you see everything, change everything and delete everything yourself. We hold no copy to request from us.
Changes
If anything changes in how the app handles data, this policy is updated and the date at the top adjusted.
